JTW Solid Lubricant Graphite Oilless Bronze Thrust Washer Bearing is designed for harsh working environments that require oil-free lubrication. It uses graphite solid lubricant and copper alloy materials to ensure wear resistance and stability under high load, low speed or no lubrication conditions. Graphite solid lubrication technology can effectively reduce friction and extend service life, and is particularly suitable for applications in heavy machinery, aerospace, metallurgy, mining and other industries. The copper alloy substrate of JTW bearings has corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity. The oil-free lubrication design reduces the maintenance requirements of traditional lubricants.

Product Architecture
The JTW thrust washer is a flat annular bearing component designed to manage axial thrust loads in rotating or oscillating assemblies. Graphite solid lubricant plugs are inserted radially into the bronze substrate at equal angular spacing. The washer face provides a low friction interface between rotating shaft shoulders and stationary housings. This oilless configuration eliminates grease channels and lubrication ports, reducing mechanical complexity in thrust load applications.

Graphite Distribution Pattern
Lubricant inserts occupy 18 to 22 percent of the washer face area. Graphite grade EG-98 is mechanically retained through dovetail grooves machined into the bronze surface. As the washer rotates against a hardened steel counterface, graphite transfers to the mating surface forming a continuous dry film. Insert depth ranges from 1.5mm to 3.0mm depending on washer thickness, ensuring lubrication availability throughout the wear life.

Thrust Face Geometry
Standard washers feature a flat parallel face with surface roughness Ra 0.8 micrometers. Edge chamfers of 0.5mm x 45 degrees prevent burr formation during handling. Oil grooves or spiral patterns are not required due to the solid lubricant mechanism. Washer flatness maintained within 0.02mm across the entire diameter for uniform load distribution.

Can the JTW washer be used with a grooved counterface
Yes. Grooved counterfaces do not impede performance. Graphite transfer film bridges minor surface irregularities after the initial run in period of approximately 30 minutes.
What happens when the graphite inserts wear completely
When graphite depth decreases below 0.5mm, the bronze substrate contacts the counterface directly. Friction coefficient rises to 0.25 to 0.35. Replace washer before complete graphite depletion to prevent counterface scoring.
Are multiple washers stackable for higher load capacity
Stacking multiple washers is not recommended. Load distribution between stacked washers becomes uneven. Use a single washer with larger surface area or higher grade material for increased thrust capacity.
Storage requirements for JTW washers
Store in dry environment between 5°C and 35°C. Relative humidity below 65 percent. Avoid exposure to ozone, UV radiation, and chemical vapors. Shelf life is 5 years under proper storage conditions.
