They can operate stably for a long time without external lubrication, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. The product has wear resistance, corrosion resistance and pressure resistance, and is suitable for a variety of demanding industrial applications such as mechanical equipment, automotive parts and automation devices. JDB650 oil-free bearings have performance in high load, low speed and medium to high temperature environments.

Product Overview

The JDB650 self-lubricating brass bushing is a composite oilless bearing engineered for applications requiring high load capacity, corrosion resistance, and reduced maintenance intervals. The base material consists of high-strength CuZn24Al6 brass alloy, into which solid graphite lubricant inserts are mechanically embedded at 45-degree or 90-degree patterns across the sliding surface. During operation, the lubricant transfers to the mating shaft surface, forming a continuous low-friction film. This design eliminates the need for external grease or oil systems, making the JDB650 suitable for hard-to-access locations, oscillating movements, and environments where lubricant contamination must be avoided.

Q2: What is the recommended shaft material and surface finish
Hardened carbon steel with hardness of 45 to 55 HRC and surface roughness Ra of 0.2 to 0.4 micrometers. Chromium plated or stainless steel shafts may increase wear rates. Shaft hardness below 40 HRC is not recommended for loads exceeding 60 N per mm².
Q3: What causes increased friction or premature wear
Common causes include surface pressure exceeding 120 N per mm² dynamic limit, sliding speed above 0.5 meters per second continuous, operating temperature beyond 200 degrees Celsius, shaft roughness outside Ra 0.2 to 0.8 micrometer range, or abrasive contamination entering the bearing interface.

Installation Precautions

  • Press fit using tools contacting bearing outer ring only. Never apply force to the sliding surface or lubricant inserts.
  • Housing bore tolerance: ISO H7 standard with surface roughness Ra less than or equal to 1.6 micrometers. Chamfer edges at 0.5 to 1.0 millimeters with 15 to 20 degree angle.
  • Do not machine or ream the inner diameter after manufacturing. This disrupts lubricant distribution pattern.
  • For interference fit applications with tolerance class H7 slash p6 or H7 slash r6, verify inner diameter reduction does not exceed 0.05 millimeters after assembly.
  • Maximum angular misalignment during operation: 0.5 degrees. Larger misalignment causes edge loading and accelerated wear.
  • Clean housing bore before installation. Debris embedded into sliding surface acts as abrasive particles.

Environmental Compatibility

  • Water immersion: Suitable for fresh and salt water exposure. Lubrication film maintained. Avoid continuous high speed operation underwater.
  • Chemical resistance: Resists mild acids with pH 5 to 7, alkalis with pH 7 to 9, hydrocarbons, and solvents. Not recommended for strong oxidizing acids.
  • Vacuum applications: Suitable for high vacuum up to 10 to the power of negative 6 mbar. Graphite lubrication does not outgas. No liquid lubricant evaporation concerns.
  • Dusty environments: Use with shaft seals or wipers when abrasive particles such as sand, cement, or mineral dust are present.
