JFB650 Metric Oil Free Self Lubricating Bronze Round Flanged Bearing is an oil-free self-lubricating bronze alloy bearing designed for applications requiring high wear resistance and long life. Made of high-quality copper alloy material, the surface has self-lubricating function, no additional lubricating oil or grease is required, suitable for use in harsh working conditions. The round flange design provides additional fixing stability and can effectively reduce axial loads. The JFB650 series represents a flanged configuration of the self-lubricating bronze bearing family, specifically designed for applications requiring axial location control in addition to radial support. The bearing consists of a high strength CuSn8 bronze substrate with solid graphite lubricant inserts placed at the sliding interface. The integrated flange face eliminates the need for separate thrust washers or retaining rings, reducing assembly steps and component inventory. This oil free design operates without external grease, making it suitable for applications where lubricant leakage or contamination presents operational risks. The metric dimensioning follows ISO 3547-2 standards, allowing direct replacement of conventional flanged bushings in existing assemblies.

Flange Related Limitations

  • Flange face not recommended for continuous pure thrust loads exceeding 40 N/mm²
  • Flange outer diameter tolerance: ISO h11 for standard configurations
  • Flange perpendicularity to bore axis: 0.05 mm per 100 mm diameter
  • Housing counterbore depth tolerance: ±0.1 mm for proper flange seating

Common Technical Inquiries

Flange orientation during installation
Install with flange face contacting the housing counterbore shoulder. The flange provides axial retention and should face the direction of the primary thrust load.
Lubricant distribution on flange face
The flange sliding surface contains lubricant inserts arranged radially. This pattern provides lubrication for axial movements or thrust load conditions.
Compatibility with rotating shafts
Suitable for rotating, oscillating, and linear motions. For continuous rotation, ensure shaft hardness of 45 HRC minimum and surface finish Ra 0.4 micrometers.
Available flange mounting holes
Standard flanged bearings are supplied without bolt holes. Flanges with mounting holes available for custom orders with minimum quantity requirements.

Installation Procedure for Flanged Bushings

Counterbore Preparation
Machine housing counterbore to depth equal to flange thickness plus 0.1mm clearance. Surface finish Ra 3.2 micrometers or better.

Lead-in Chamfer
Apply 1mm x 15 degree chamfer on housing bore entry to guide bushing during press fit.

Press Fit Tooling
Use flat faced tool contacting the entire flange face. Never press directly on the bushing inner bore or lubricant area.

Seating Verification
Confirm flange fully seats against counterbore shoulder. Gap of 0.05mm maximum permissible.
